Freehold CROP Hunger Walk

About Freehold CROP Hunger Walk

Hunger is rising again. As many as 828 million people go to bed hungry every night. 50 million people in 45 countries are on the edge of famine. We are all aware of the devastation caused by the war in Ukraine and drought aggravated by global warming. Money raised in the Freehold Area CROP Walk provides sustainable self-help, development, disaster relief here and abroad, and refugee assistance. CROP walks fight hunger and poverty through advocacy and collaboration with partners in over 30 countries, including the US, without evangelizing. AND 25% of our proceeds are returned to local food pantries to help us to meet hunger needs right here at home! Our Walk has been a “CREAM OF THE CROP WALK,” one of the 100 biggest fund-raising walks (of over 800 walks) since 2017. Let’s not stop now!

The Freehold Area CROP Walk, organized by the Freehold Clergy Association and WHAM, the Windsor Hightstown Area Ministerium, interfaith groups of clergy and faith leaders from Roman Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, and other faith groups, as well as hospital and police chaplains, will take place on Sunday, October 16th at The Reformed Church of Freehold, 67 W. Main Street, Freehold. Registration is at 1:30 p.m. and the walk route will be available until 4 p.m. In the event of seriously inclement weather, the walk will be held at St. Rose of Lima School gym, 51 Lincoln Place, Freehold.

There will be a 2.6 mile and 1/10 mile mini-walk route marked out in historic Freehold Borough. A map will be provided at registration.
