In light of recent events, the National Spring CROP Hunger Walk is now the CROP Hunger Walk for Ukraine. Walk on your treadmill, in your neighborhood, in a park with friends – you choose your location.
Between now and July 1, walk 117 miles in solidarity with Ukrainian refugees seeking safety in Moldova. Ask friends and family to donate in support of your effort. The funds you raise will provide help to Ukrainians seeking safety. #Walk4Ukraine.
Why Moldova? Walk sponsor, CWS, has ongoing refugee/migration programming in Eastern Europe and partners on the ground in Moldova. Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Eastern Europe and in the past weeks, more than 200,000 Ukrainians have crossed the border and need help.
Why 117 miles? Many Ukrainians arriving in Moldova are coming from the port city of Odessa. The distance from Odessa to Chisinau (Moldova’s capital) is 117 miles. If that distance is more than you can make, why not set a goal of 30 miles – the distance from Odessa to the border?
What will your donations provide? Your donations can provide mental health and psychosocial support, food, shelter, livelihoods, water, sanitation, and cash assistance to Ukrainians fleeing conflict. If we raise more than we need for the Ukrainian response, funds will support other migrants and refugees in Eastern Europe.
