No one in this world should be hungry. That's why the CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a gathering of people in a place. Were part of a movement, taking steps and raising funds together to provide meals for those in our own community who need them - and supporting programs that create greater food security in communities all around the world.
The 45th anniversary CROP Hunger Walk in Albany (now known as the John U Miller Memorial CROP Hunger Walk) was held on Sunday, May 3rd, starting from St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Hackett Blvd.
Some 200 walkers participated, some walking in other locations, and over $29,000 in cash and checks was turned in that day.
Donations may be made throughout the month of May.
All checks (made out to CWS/CROP) should be turned in to the office of the Capital Area Council of Churches, 110 North Pearl St., Albany NY 12207. Call the office at 518 462-5450 to be sure someone will be there.
Please join us in the fight against hunger. The steps we take and funds we raise will make a difference in the lives of others.
