We walk for those who need help around the block and around the world. In the US, we say your childhood zip code should not determine your humanity, and the same can be said globally. CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty!
We're back for Year #44 to keep supporting local grant partners and Church World Service's national and global projects.
See our local website for all local details and to sign up for our newsletter.
Local Grant Partner applications are open until April 21 - apply here
Please renew your own partnership right here for 2026 and register you and your team small or large! Thanks to our generous corporate sponsor The Chicago Temple (First United Methodist Church), we are giving all registrants a $25 bonus gift for any first gift amount toward your individual and team goal... $5 becomes $30, $25 becomes $50, or $75 becomes $100! Also, raise $150 or more (excluding the first $25 bonus gift) and get a second $25 bonus gift. So, raise at least $150 and add $50! In addition, we have CROP Walk merch, such as shirts, tote bags, and umbrellas.
Check out our Lou Malnati's Pizzeria fundraiser webpage. Get their famous deep-dish 9" pizza in four varieties: cheese, spinach, sausage, or pepperoni, including heart-shaped during special holiday times. Cost is $16 for a coupon redeemable at any location until March 1 or May 1, 2027 (depending on how late you order). All proceeds go directly to our CROP Walk total for relief programs, since our committee and services are all-volunteer.
We deeply thank Pastor Anne and First Immanuel Lutheran Church, our generous hosts since 2019! We will provide a free Family Fun Fest and lunch prior to the Walk starting at 12:00. Our Step-Off Ceremony starts at 1:30. Otherwise, decide your own Walk anytime/anywhere by November 30. Our symbolic community 5K walk is typical (round-trip) to access water in developing countries.
Please join our Planning Committee and help plan our Walk. Meetings are the 3rd Tuesdays at 7 pm online with Google Meet (get link on local website). We have Service Learning hours for youth volunteers, especially high schoolers, managed by a CPS teacher. See our website for details. We also have sponsorship opportunities, led by Julie Kimani, our Assistant Coordinator. See our website to become a sponsor with many benefits. Thank you volunteers and sponsors!
Our Team Leader Rally is Saturday, Sept. 5 from 10:30-11:30 at our Walk site First Immanuel Lutheran Church and online to learn Walk details, tour the site, receive Walk materials, and be inspired to "walk the Walk" with light refreshments. Our regional CWS Community Engagement Specialist Nick Gliha will join us online!
No one in this world should be hungry. Please join in us in the fight against hunger. The steps we take and funds we raise will make a difference in the lives of others, our fellow world citizens.
Check back for updates! Let's walk the Walk together!
