50 Years of Fighting Hunger in Sioux City! For half a century, this community has laced up its shoes and taken steps - real steps - to end hunger locally and globally. The 2026 CROP Hunger Walk marks our 50th anniversary, and we're inviting everyone to be part of this milestone moment. Let's make it our biggest walk yet!
Please join us on Sunday, October 18, 2026, for the 50th annual Sioux City CROP Hunger Walk. Registration opens at 1:00 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church parking lot, 1735 Morningside Ave.
You are invited to walk all or only a portion of our 3.5-mile round-trip route, with a rest stop at the Community Action Agency of Siouxland (CAAS), which receives 25% of all collected donations to support hunger relief right here in our community.
Fighting hunger is a team effort and your team is already around you. Invite your church, school, coworkers, family, or neighbors to walk together on a Sunday afternoon and make a real difference locally and globally. And be sure you’re all following the Sioux City CROP Walk on Facebook for walk updates, totals, pictures and more! It's one hour on a Sunday afternoon. And it makes a world of difference.
Sioux City has consistently ranked among the top CROP Walk communities in the nation. In 2025, we welcomed 169 participants representing 28 groups and churches. Together, participants raised $26,079.30 and collected 250 pounds of food for the Community Action Agency of Siouxland (CAAS). And the Sioux City CROP Walk was ranked #77 out of more than 500 walks nationwide, a testament to the extraordinary generosity of this community.
New to the CROP Walk or want to learn more about it? Join us at the Recruiters' Rally on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 1-2 pm for an open house at Grace UMC. It’s a chance to ask questions and pick up any materials you may need to promote the CROP Walk. Committee members will also be available to assist you in setting up yourself as an online walker and setting up your church/school as an online CROP team.
CROP Hunger Walk is one of the most impactful things you can do in an afternoon. Funds raised support Church World Service in its mission to provide food, water, and shelter to communities in need around the world — while a meaningful portion stays right here in Sioux City to support the food programs at the Community Action Agency of Siouxland.
This year, as we celebrate 50 years of walking together, let's honor that legacy with our best walk yet. Come for the cause. Stay for the community.
