2025 CROP Hunger Walk

No one in this world should be hungry. That's why the CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a gathering of people in a place. We're part of a movement, taking steps and raising funds together to provide meals for those in our own community who need them - and supporting programs that create greater food security in communities all around the world.

Join us for the 41st annual Roanoke Valley CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 12th to walk and raise funds to provide sustainable solutions to hunger, poverty, disaster and displacement. Bring your family, invite a friend, co-worker, or neighbor to join this movement that is transforming the lives of our neighbors one step at a time.

Preparing for the Walk:
• Register and set up your team page online so you don’t have to handle cash and checks.
• Pick up team captain packets and other walk promotional materials on Thursday, August 28 at 5:30 PM at First Evangelical Presbyterian, 2101 Jefferson St SW, Roanoke, VA 24014.
• Set your fundraising goal and recruit your friends, family, co-workers, church members and all in your circle of influence to support you.
• Follow up on social media on Facebook. Like and share our posts.
• Download and share this CROP flyer far and wide in the community – post on church bulletin boards, at local libraries, at your place of employment, doctor’s offices, etc.

Walk Day:
• Registration for teams and individuals begins at 1:30 pm.
• NEW THIS YEAR: Hygiene kits assembly. Kits will be shipped by CWS to communities around the U.S. affected by natural disaster. This is a great activity for our youth on walk day.
• Step off is at 2:00 pm.
• There are two route options - 1-mile loop and a 4-mile loop. The routes will be well-marked and maps will be provided.
• Take pictures and videos about why you walk and share them on social media using #CROPHungerWalk, #Enough4All, and #RoanokeCROPHungerWalk.

This year, we are again partnering with Feeding Southwest Virginia (FSWVA), and in particular, the Community Solutions Center (CSC). CSC, part of FSWVA, is our local organization who will receive 25% of funds raised.  For 2025, our goal is to raise $25,000.
