2025 CROP Hunger Walk

Walk. Give. Change the world.

Did you know that many people in the developing world (mostly women and girls) walk up to six miles each day just to get water for drinking, washing, cooking, and so on? Did you know that a big segment of the population of Sudan is at risk of starvation because of the fighting going on in that country? Did you know that millions of people (many of them children under five) die every year from hunger-related causes and easily preventable illnesses? And did you know that you can make a difference to these people while also supporting hunger relief in your own hometown?

One way to make a difference is to walk in the 2024 Reading-Berks CROP Walk with the Community UCC team. Simply register to walk with our team and start raising funds—through personal contact, social media, etc. If you are unable to walk with us, please support our team with your tax-deductible donation. 75% of the money we raise will go to combat hunger around the world, but 25% will return to Berks County to aid the Helping Harvest food bank.

It's fun to walk together, and it will give you a good feeling in your heart. Not just because of the cardiovascular workout, but because you will be exercising your compassion muscles as well.
