2024 CROP Hunger Walk

CONGRATULATIONS to all participants and sponsors who joined forces to raise over $40,000 at the Mechanicsburg/West Shore CROP Hunger Walk, held Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Memorial Park in Mechanicsburg, PA!

Nothing deterred this group of over 350 neighbors from all walks of life to walk their values one step at a time to feed the hungry.  Some jogged the 5K course; others were aided by wheelchairs and walkers; but all were cheered on by the Mechanicsburg Area High School mascot and DJ Captain Kent.  In solidarity with those in developing countries, who on average walk 3.7 miles a day just to access clean water, those who walked 3 miles joyfully rang a bell at the end of their trek on the perimeter of the park.

Over 30 teams - including enthusiastic teams from New Hope Ministries, Mechanicsburg Area Meals on Wheels, and Church World Service Harrisburg - recipients of 100% of the funds raised - joined forces to combat hunger.

Special thanks to all team captains, business and church sponsors, donors, as well as photographers Rev. Del Keeney and Mr. Bob Saline whose pictures give a glimpse into the joy that the walkers had knowing they were serving others.
