Wake Forest CROP Hunger Walk

About Wake Forest CROP Hunger Walk

No one in this world should be hungry. That's why the Wake Forest CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a gathering of people in a place. We're part of a movement, taking steps and raising funds together to provide meals for those in our own community who need them - and supporting programs that create greater food security in communities all around the world.

Please join in us in the fight against hunger on Sunday, September 22nd at the Wake Forest Birthplace as we walk in solidarity with our neighbors who are affected by poverty, hunger, displacement, and disaster. Invite your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and faith partners to this fun, family-friendly event that helps to transform the lives of the most vulnerable people around the block and around the world.

Preparing for the Walk:

  • Register and set up your team page online so you don’t have to handle cash and checks.
  • Attend the Team Captain Rally: Date to be announced.
  • Set your fundraising goal and recruit walkers and sponsors to support you.
  • Share the attached flyer with your friends and neighbors, post on your church bulletin board, in local businesses as allowed, in the local library, at schools, and any other public location.

Walk Day:

  • Take pictures and videos about why you walk and share them on social media using #CROPHungerWalk, #endinghunger, #wewalkbecausetheywalk.
  • Be sure to follow us on social media at Facebook and Instagram

Instructions for Walk Donations:

  • Please encourage walkers to donate online so you don’t have to handle cash and checks.
  • For walkers who choose to write a check, make checks payable to CWS/CROP and give them to your team captain to send to the CROP Walk Treasurer. If you are an individual walker who wants to send a check for the CROP Hunger Walk, please email wakeforestcropwalk@gmail.com for instructions on where to send your check.

Benefiting organizations from funds raised are Tri-Area Ministry, Hope House, Wake Forest Community Table, and Church World Service. Our local agencies and CWS need our support even more today. The steps we take and funds we raise will make a difference in the lives of our neighbors locally and globally.
